YORK, Pa. – Senior
Rylee Wenzel (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) defended her crown in the 50-yard freestyle Monday night at the 2025 PSAC Swimming Championships. Following the first day of competition, the Bloomsburg women's swimming team sits in 2nd place with 203 team points.
Wenzel earned her spot in the 'A' finals with a time of 23.56, the third fastest time in the prelims. The senior sprung off the starting blocks and controlled the race from the beginning. She maintained her lead after the turn and touched the wall .17 ahead of the second-place swimmer from California (Pa.) with a season-best time of 22.97. Wenzel was just .05 off her school record, set at this meet in 2024. At the time of her swim, Wenzel holds the 11
th fastest time in the 50 in NCAA DII this year.

Joining Wenzel on the podium was junior
Rachel Cunningham (Hanover, Pa./South Western) with a sixth-place finish at 23.50, an NCAA 'B' cut, and sophomore
Morgan Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 23.52 to take seventh.

After the final heat of the 1,000-yard freestyle opened the night's races,
Madison Osanitsch (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) officially finished ninth overall while
Ella Dittmar (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) took 18
th overall.

Grace McBlain (Aldan, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) dropped 1.65 off her prelim time to take second in the consolation finals with a time of 2:09.18.
Taleah Ruben (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) took 1.37 off her prelim time to finished third in the consolation final at 2:09.96.
Vanesa Valli (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) also shaved .16 off her prelim time as she took fifth in the consolation finals.

The 800-yard freestyle relay team of
Sidney Beers (DeBois, Pa./DuBois Area),
Sarah Pickel (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon), Holmes, Osanitsch 3.34 off of their fastest time this season as they took fifth overall with a time of 7:49.07.

The Huskies get back in the pool tomorrow morning for Day Two of the PSAC Championships. The prelims of the 100-yard butterfly, 400-yard IM, and 200-yard freestyle are set to get started at 10:00 a.m. from the York YMCA Graham Aquatics Center.
