LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior
Briannan Eckard (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) shattered the Bloomsburg women's track & field hammer throw record as she helped the Huskies to a fifth-place finish at the Bucknell Team Challenge Saturday. Bloomsburg finished with 55 total team points.

Eckard's record-setting mark came on her final legal throw as she hit 47.00 meters (154' 2") to take fifth overall. Eckard now ranks eighth in the PSAC. The previous school record was 46.53 meters (152' 8"), set by Tayler Harkins in 2015. She cleared her personal-best mark by almost two and half meters (44.58 meters).

Eckard's school-record throw highlighted a strong day by the Husky throwers.

The Huskies posted a pair of PSAC qualifying marks in the javelin as
Kelly Leszcynski (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) finished third with a throw of 45.09 meters (147' 11"), a NCAA provisional mark as well, and
Abbey Hengst (/) took sixth with a throw of 39.10 meters (128' 3").

Julia Beccari (Lake Ronkonkoma, Pa./Sachem North) took fifth overall in the discus with a PSAC mark of 39.85 meters (130' 9") and ninth in the shot put with a throw of 11.64 meters (38' 2.25"). She took 15
th in the hammer with a throw of 36.83 meters (120' 10").
Becca Martin (Wellington, Fla./Cushing Academy) took fifth in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 12.64 meters (41' 5.75").

Coral Shivok (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) finished fourth to earn five team points in the pole vault as she cleared 3.52 meters (11' 6.5"), a PSAC qualifying mark, and
Aria Messner (Avoca, Pa./Pittston Area) recorded a personal-best in the long jump as she took second overall with a. jump of 5.60 meters (18' 4.5") to qualifying for the PSAC championships.

On the track,
Alyssa Cunningham (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) posted a PSAC-qualifying mark and personal-best time of 4:52.68 to take seventh overall in the 1,500-meter run. Abigail took fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a PSAC-time of 15.24and third in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:04.49.

The 4x100-meter relay team of
Emma Kay (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone Area),
Abby Rochester (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain West),
Megan Gambogi (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), and Messner hit a season-best time of 49.84 to take fifth overall. The team of Parise, Madeline Ikeler,
Ashlyn Albright (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita), and
Natalya Heard (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) finished fifth in the 4x400-meter relay with a season-best time of 4:15.26.

The Huskies get back to action next Friday when they host their annual Maroon & Gold Meet at Redman Stadium. The field events will get underway at 2:30 p.m. while the track events will start approximately at 4:30 p.m. The Huskies will celebrate their graduating seniors midway through the meet.
