BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – First the first time since 2012, the Bloomsburg men's tennis team is set to compete in the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship Tournament. The Huskies earned the No. 7 seed in the Atlantic Region and travel to No. 2 Edinboro on Friday.

Match 1 - No. 2 Edinboro vs No. 7 Bloomsburg – 10:00 a.m.
Match 2 - No. 2 Fairmont State vs No. 6 Shaw – 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 10
Match 3 – Winner Match 1 vs Winner Match 2 – 12:00 p.m.

HOW THEY GOT THERE
The Huskies earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after finishing as the PSAC Men's Tennis Runner's Up last week. Bloomsburg fell to Edinboro, 4-0, in a marathon match that took two days, and a location change to complete. Bloomsburg earned the No. 2 seed in the PSAC Tournament and out-lasted No. 3 Millersville in the semifinals to earn their spot in the tournament finals. The Fighting Scots won the 2025 PSAC Men's Tennis title after their win in the championship match. Edinboro defeated the No. 4 seed, Kutztown, in the conference semifinals to earn their spot in the conference finals.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
The Huskies are led by
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/) this season with a 14-4 overall record and a 10-3 slate in dual matches at No. 1 singles.
Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin) is 12-8 in singles this year while
Alejandro Higuera () is 11-6 overall this season. In doubles matches,
Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin) and
Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School) are 13-9 this season and 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.
Iu Casamitjana (Igualada, Spain/Escola Pia Igualada) and Dementev are 10-8 for the year and 7-2 at No. 2 doubles and 9-3 overall in dual matches.

SCOUTING THE FIGHTING SCOTS
The Fighting Scots are 13-5-1 on the year and are currently on an 11-match winning streak.

IN THE OTHER MATCH
Fairmont State earned the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic Region after falling the MEC Title match to the University of Charleston last Sunday. Shaw is the No. 6 seed after earning an at-large bid as an NCAA DII Independent University.

UP NEXT
Following the conclusion of region play, 16 teams will advance to the play at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, FL. Single elimination competition begins on May 20 and continues through the national championship on May 24.
