AUSTIN, Texas – Senior
Emma Little (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn-Trafford) capped her career at Bloomsburg with the first College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America honor for the softball program since 2000. Little earned First Team honors as a designated player, as announced by CSC on Tuesday.
Â
Little, an early childhood education major from Pittsburgh, Pa., carried a 3.88 GPA through her four years at Bloomsburg and was a staple in the Huskies' lineup this season. Little was a .346 hitter in 52 games for Bloomsburg and collected 54 hits, including 26 extra base hits for the season. She led the team with 10 home runs and was an All-PSAC First Team DP this year, her second career All-PSAC honor.
Â
Little had career-highs in every offensive category this season to lead the Huskies to a 33-21 overall record including a trip to the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship game against Kutztown. Her 2-for-4 day with three RBI led Bloomsburg to Championship Sunday. Little drove in the go-ahead run in the fourth against Kutztown.
Â
For her career, Little is a two-time First Team All-PSAC East honoree, twice named CSC Academic All-District, a two-time Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete, a two-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete, and a D2 ADA Scholar-Athlete.
Â
Little joins seven other former Huskies as CSC (formally CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans for the softball program. The most recent CSC All-American was Chris Bertatie as a Second-Team honoree in 2000 while Cindy Freeland was the last First Team honoree for the Huskies in 1988.

Bella Culp (Harrisburg, Pa/Central Dauphin),
Callie Sowers (Irwin, Pa/Hempfield Area),
Sarah Yamrick (Fort Myers, Fla./Bishop Verot), and
