GREENWOOD, Ind. – Five members of the Bloomsburg women's cross country and track & field programs earned 2024–25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, as announced Tuesday by CSC.
Jaime Diedel (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), Briannan Eckard (Danville, Pa./Danville Area), Abbey Hengst (/), Maddy Ikeler (/), and Kelly Leszcynski (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) received All-District recognition, with Leszcynski advancing to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least sophomores academically, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and rank among the top 50 in their NCAA Regional Championship (cross country) or among the top 50 regionally in an individual event (track & field), according to TFRRS.
Diedel, a senior secondary education major from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, graduated with a 3.79 GPA. She finished the indoor season ranked 18th in the Atlantic Region in the mile (5:15.58). In the outdoor season, she ranked 24th in the 5,000 meters (18:26.17), 25th in the 3,000 meters (10:33.00), and 49th in the 1,500 meters (4:53.98).
Eckard, a special education/early education major from Danville, Pennsylvania, finished her career with a 3.94 GPA. She ranked 41st in the Atlantic Region in the indoor weight throw (12.59m / 41' 3.75") and placed 15th in the outdoor hammer throw with a school-record mark of 47.00 meters (154' 2").
Hengst, a junior sports management major from Hazleton, Pennsylvania, posted a 3.92 GPA. She finished the season ranked ninth in the Atlantic Region in the javelin with a throw of 40.92 meters (134' 3").
Ikeler, a sophomore biomedical science major from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, has a 3.89 GPA. She ranked 25th in the region in the indoor 100-meter hurdles (14.92) and 38th in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles (1:07.36).
Leszcynski, a middle level education major with a concentration in math, is a junior by credit and holds a 3.98 GPA. Her standout sophomore season culminated with a national championship in the javelin. She ranked first in the Atlantic Region and second nationally with a throw of 50.40 meters (165' 4"), and her mark of 52.07 meters (170' 10") ranks 12th all-time in NCAA Division II history and is a Bloomsburg school record. Leszcynski was named the PSAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and the USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Field Athlete of the Year. She also earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the women's basketball team earlier this year.
The 2024–25 CSC Academic All-America teams will be announced July 16.
