MANAHAWKIN, N.J. — The Bloomsburg field hockey team moved up to fifth in the latest edition of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Coaches Poll as announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.

Bloomsburg jumped up one spot from its preseason ranking after starting the year with a 5-0 record. The Huskies are currently second in the nation in goals per game (5.00) behind Kutztown.

The maroon and gold started the season with four consecutive shutout victories and saw its shutout streak end against Mercy at 250 minutes and 53 seconds in. The Huskies have outscored their opponents 25-1 so far this season.

Junior
Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) currently leads the NCAA in both goals (9) and goals per game (1.8). She has tied her previous season-highs in goals in just five games.
Sophie Lawler (Newport, Pa./Newport) leads the team in assists with three while also netting two goals of her own. Overall, 12 different Huskies have scored so far this season.

Maura Greek (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) currently sits fourth in the nation in both goals-against-average (.200) and save percentage (.917).

Bloomsburg is back in action on Wednesday, September 17 at Steph Pettit Stadium for a 4 p.m. contest against St. Thomas Aquinas to kick off its five-game homestand.
