KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Sitting on a 4-0 record in 2025, the Bloomsburg women's soccer team is ranked No. 22Â in the United Soccer Coaches Division II National Poll announced Tuesday afternoon. In addition to the national ranking, the Huskies are currently the No. 3 team in the Atlantic region.Â
Bloomsburg continued its strong start to the season with an offensive outpouring. The week began on Wednesday with a 7-0 victory over Mansfield. The Huskies ran away with the contest in the first half after scoring four goals inside the first 20 minutes. Bloomsburg followed up the result with a come-from-behind effort on the road to defeat Millersville, 3-2, for the team's first win in conference play.
The Huskies got a number of contributions, led by the goal-scoring efforts of Alexa Arrigale (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional). The senior forward recorded three goals in the team's two games last week, netting her first career brace against the Mountaineers before finding the back of the net for the second of Bloomsburg's three second-half goals against the Marauders on Saturday.Â
In addition to Arrigale's efforts, several other Huskies contributed to the team's winning ways, including Olivia Thompson (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) (2 goals), Anika Krasnai (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) (1 goal, 1 assist), Sydney Donovan (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) (1 goal, 1 assist), and Laci Bell (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) (2 assists), among others. Bloomsburg's 4-0 run to begin the season is the best two-week stretch for the program since 2008. It is the first time the Huskies are ranked in thte national poll since 2022.
The Huskies are back in action tomorrow for a PSAC contest on the road against Shippensburg, on Wednesday, September 17.
