SELINSGROVE, Pa. — The Bloomsburg men's track & field team turned in a strong early-season showing at the River Hawk Invite on Saturday, posting multiple event victories and registering several PSAC-qualifying performances.
Junior
Justin Herrmann (Palmerton, Pa./Palmerton Area) highlighted the sprints with a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking an 8.53 to qualify for the PSAC Championships. In the 200 meters,
Christopher Brittingham (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) finished second in 23.27, while
Shane Kerosetz (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) took seventh at 23.65 and
Finnegan Purtle (/) finished eighth at 23.81.
Patrick Moore (Blakeslee, Pa./Commonwealth Charter Academy) finished ninth with a time of 23.98 and
Tyler Leitzel (Dover, Pa./Dover Area) rounded out the top-10 with a time of 24.02. Chris Schearer ran a 24.08 to take 11th and Eli Butler finished 13th at 24.17.
Jaxson Hoffman (/) rounded out the top-15 finishers as he finished 14th with a time of 24.18.
Brittingham took fourth overall in the 60-meter finals with a time of 7.08 after finishing sixth in the prelims with a time of 7.16.
In the 400 meters, freshman
Katrell Butler (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) placed fourth in 53.52, with Eli Butler adding a seventh-place finish at 54.48.
Evan Mann (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) recorded another top-15 effort as he took 11th overall with a time of 55.64.
Landon Kester (Benton, Pa./Benton) ran a 2:09.63 to take seventh in the 800 while senior
Peter Tepper (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) finished second in the mile in 4:28.70.
Jordan Mann (Kunkletown, Pa./Palmerton) finished 10th with a time of 4:55.56 and
Salahudinn Abdul-Hamid (State College, Pa./State College Area) finished 12th at 4:57.45.
Distance events were led by freshman
Rex Farr (/), who won the 3,000 meters in 9:11.67.
The 4x400-meter relay as the "A" team of
Christopher Brittingham (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford), Chris Schearer, Bryce Pattillo, and
Finnegan Purtle (/) placed third in 3:35.42.
In the field events,
Daniel Ajuz (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) captured the long jump title with a mark of 7.06 meters (23' 2"), qualifying for the PSAC Championships.
Trevor Johnson (Kintnersville, Pa./Palisades) finished in fifth place as he hit 6.53 meters (21' 5.25").
Michael Deckert (/) finished 12th as he hit 5.92 meters (19' 5.25").
Johnson also took fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.96 meters (42' 6.25") and Deckert finished seventh with a jump of 12.66 meters (41' 6.5").
In the throws, junior
Kaleb Zimmerman (Lancaster, Pa./Garden Spot) placed third in the shot put with a mark of 13.91 meters (45' 7.75"), while
Eli Torres (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) finished ninth with a throw of 12.24 meters (40' 2"). Cameron. Williams finished second in the weight throw with a distance of 16.16 meters (53' 0.25") to qualify for the PSAC Indoor Championships and
Dylan Krugh (Bangor, Pa./Bangor Area) took third with a toss of 14.80 meters (48' 6.75").
Michael Taylor (/) captured fifth overall with a throw of 14.64 meters (48' 0.5") and Walker took 10th with a throw of 13.27 meters (43' 6.5").
Jack Donchez (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty High School) finished 11th overall with a throw of 13.19 meters (43' 3.25").

The Huskies get back to action next Saturday when they head to the Gulden Invitational hosted by Bucknell on January 24.
