SELINSGROVE, Pa. — The Bloomsburg men's swimming team continued to build postseason momentum Saturday afternoon, defeating Susquehanna 126–43 while producing multiple PSAC qualifying swims and season-best performances across all event groups.
The Huskies opened the meet with three scoring relays in the 200-yard medley relay. The "A" relay of
Jack Drake (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg Area),
Andrew Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway),
Nick Lennon (Wilmington, Del./Saint Marks) and
Ian Hamilton (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) won the event in 1:35.57. Bloomsburg's "C" relay finished second in 1:40.05.
Nick Zaffiro (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) led the distance group with a win in the 500 freestyle, touching first in 4:52.05. The swim marked a season best and met the PSAC qualifying standard.
Constantin Buga (Philadlephia, Pa./Northeast) placed third in 5:08.68 with a season best, while first-year
Daryn Ginter (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg Area) finished fourth in 5:16.69, also a season best.
Andrew Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) spearheaded a Bloomsburg sweep of the 200 freestyle, winning in 1:48.77. The swim was met the PSAC qualifying mark.
Luke Willard (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) followed in second with a time of 1:52.61, while
Adler Zawodny (Hellertown, Pa./CCA) placed third in 1:52.97, a season best.
Sprint depth again favored the Huskies in the 50 freestyle.
Brayden Kemezis (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) won the event in 22.52, a season-best swim that narrowly missed the PSAC qualifying standard.
Tyler Tinsley (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) (22.69) and
Cole Verga (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence) (22.81) finished second and third, respectively.
Jack Drake (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg Area) captured the 200 individual medley in 1:55.86, a season-best performance that met the PSAC qualifying standard. Tommy Houck followed in second with a time of 2:00.47, while
Connor McClurkin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) finished fifth in 2:09.19.
Matthew Boehme highlighted the butterfly events, winning the 100 butterfly in 53.90 with a season-best swim.
Michael Huegel (Springfield, Pa./Spriingfield) placed second in 54.92, and
Colin Nash (Abington, Pa/Abington) finished fourth in 56.14, a season-best time.
Hamilton secured another PSAC qualifying swim in the 100 backstroke, touching first in 53.86 while
Chad Jones (Akron, Pa./Ephrata) (57.36) and Verga (57.68) rounded out the Huskies' scoring..
Bloomsburg closed the meet with a sweep of the 100 breaststroke. Drake won in 1:00.85, a season-best swim that met the PSAC qualifying standard.
Ethan Coffman (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) (1:02.23) and Houck (1:02.82) followed with season-best performances.
The Huskies close out the regular season next Saturday as they honor their senior class with an intrasquad meet at Nelson Field House.
