READING, Pa. — The Bloomsburg men's golf team capped its strong fall campaign Tuesday afternoon, capturing the team championship at the Alvernia Fall Invitational behind four top-10 individual finishes and a balanced performance throughout the lineup.
The Huskies combined for a 9-over-par 297 to claim the tournament title by two strokes over host Alvernia, which finished second at 299 (+11). Juniata rounded out the top three with a 303 (+15), while Albright finished fourth at 311 (+23).
Patrick Bush (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon) led the Huskies with a 1-over-par 73 to finish third individually, while

Rylan Bravin (Frederick, Md./Urbana) and
Wilson Abram (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) each carded a 3-over-par 75 to finish tied for eighth, giving Bloomsburg four golfers among the tournament's top 10.
Bush put together one of the day's strongest opening stretches, recording a 1-under-par 35 on the front nine. He birdied the par-4 third hole and played his first 11 holes at 2-under before navigating a challenging stretch on the back nine. Bush closed his round with a birdie on the par-5 18th to secure his third-place finish.
Matteo turned in a consistent performance with matching nine-hole scores of 37. After opening with a birdie on the par-3 second hole, he added consecutive birdies on the par-5 13th and par-3 14th holes. His three birdies helped him finish one stroke behind Bush and secure a top-five showing.
Bravin overcame a difficult opening nine to post an even-par 36 on the back, highlighted by consecutive birdies on the par-4 12th and par-5 13th holes. He also birdied the par-3 fourth and par-4 ninth holes, finishing with four birdies on the afternoon.
Abram matched Bravin's 75 to round out the Huskies' four counting scores. The quartet finished separated by just two strokes, providing the consistency Bloomsburg needed to edge Alvernia for the championship.
Charlie O'Connor (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) completed the Huskies' lineup with a 14-over-par 86, finishing 48th individually. O'Connor recorded three birdies, including a birdie on the par-3 14th hole, and finished with matching nine-hole scores of 43.
Bloomsburg's four counting scores of 73, 74, 75 and 75 combined for the championship-winning 297 on the par-72 layout.
THe Huskies wrapped up their fall schedule at Alvernia and will get back to action in the spring semester.
