Bloomsburg improved to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the PSAC East with a 27-21 road victory at Shepherd on Oct. 17. The Rams entered at 5-1 and were ranked No. 24 by D2Football.com while receiving votes in the AFCA poll. The Huskies held a Shepherd offense that had averaged 31.3 points to 21 and remained unbeaten in four road games. Clancy recorded a season-high 37 rushing attempts. Bloomsburg has now won three of the past four meetings with Shepherd, including consecutive visits to Ram Stadium in 2024 and 2026.

I'M HONORED — BOOKER, KASHYNSKI, DONOHUE & ZIMMERMAN
Bloomsburg has collected five PSAC East weekly athlete honors through seven games, including two sweeps of the defensive and special teams awards. Nahzier Booker (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) earned his second Defensive Athlete of the Week honor following the Huskies' 27-21 victory at No. 24 Shepherd, while Peter Kashynski (Falls Church, Va./Justice) collected Special Teams Athlete of the Week recognition. Booker deflected a pass that Garrett Garcia (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) intercepted late in the first half before recording his first career interception in the fourth quarter, setting up the Huskies' final scoring drive. Kashynski accounted for nine points, connecting on field goals of 40 and 37 yards and converting all three extra points.

Ian Donohue (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) and Eli Zimmerman (Schnecksville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) swept the weekly defensive and special teams honors following Bloomsburg's 33-31 comeback victory over Shippensburg. Donohue earned his first career Defensive Athlete of the Week award after recording six tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble and three quarterback hurries. His performance helped limit the Raiders to just 30 rushing yards and 1 yard per carry. Zimmerman collected his second career Special Teams Athlete of the Week honor after returning a fourth-quarter kickoff 76 yards for a touchdown, completing a nine-point swing in 12 seconds and providing the eventual winning points. He finished with a game-high 194 all-purpose yards, including 110 return yards and 84 rushing yards.

Booker opened the season with Defensive Athlete of the Week honors following Bloomsburg's 35-13 victory at Fairmont State, where he recorded 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. The Huskies' five weekly selections include three defensive and two special teams honors.

DEFENSIVE STANDARD
The Huskies allow 264.7 total yards and 90.4 rushing yards per game, ranking 15th and 13th nationally, respectively. Opponents have rushed for 633 yards on 225 attempts, an average of 2.8 yards per carry. Bloomsburg has 50 tackles for loss, 15 sacks and 12 takeaways, including nine interceptions. Opponents convert just 32.3% of third downs, the lowest rate in the PSAC. The defense has allowed touchdowns on only 12 of 22 opposing red-zone trips.

DOMINATING THE TRENCHES
Bloomsburg rushed for 1,313 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2024 and 1,663 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2025. Through seven games this season, the Huskies have 1,114 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging 159.1 yards per game. Clancy has 681 yards and seven scores; Zimmerman has 204 yards and two. The offensive line has allowed eight sacks (1.14 per game), 30th nationally and fourth in the PSAC. Defensively, the Huskies have 50 tackles for loss and 15 sacks while allowing just 2.8 yards per rush. Millersville allows 186.7 rushing yards per game.

GARCIA LEADS THE MIDDLE
Garrett Garcia (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) leads Bloomsburg with 50 tackles through seven games and has 4.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and three pass breakups. His interception at Gannon helped set up the tying field goal in the Huskies' eventual overtime victory, and he made a key fourth-down stop late in regulation.

LBU
Bloomsburg's tradition of standout linebackers continues with a 2026 unit that has helped establish the Huskies among the nation's top defensive teams. Garrett Garcia (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) leads Bloomsburg with 50 tackles and two interceptions, while Nahzier Booker (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) has recorded 47 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and an interception. Brady Thompson (Green Lane, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) adds 45 tackles and an interception, giving the trio 142 combined stops through seven games. Their production has helped the Huskies rank 15th nationally in total defense (264.7 yards per game) and 13th in rushing defense (90.4).

The tradition traces back to current head coach and College Football Hall of Famer Frank Sheptock, one of the most decorated linebackers in program history. A three-time Associated Press First Team All-American and four-time All-PSAC selection, Sheptock still holds Bloomsburg records for career tackles (537), single-season tackles (159) and single-game tackles (23). He was inducted into the Bloomsburg Athletics Hall of Fame in 1997 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007.

That legacy continued through PSAC East Defensive Players of the Year Anthony Smith (2009), Mike Varnavage (2010) and Justin Shirk (2014), along with All-PSAC standouts Andrew Harris, Alex Annan, Tom Goetz and Ryan D'Ambra. Shirk also earned Super Region 1 Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2014. With Sheptock now leading the program from the sidelines, Bloomsburg's current linebackers are carrying forward a tradition built on physicality, production and defensive excellence.

I'LL TAKE THAT
Bloomsburg's opportunistic defense has collected nine interceptions through seven games, with eight different Huskies recording at least one takeaway. Garrett Garcia (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) and Cole Turner (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) lead the team with two interceptions apiece, while Idriz Ahmetovic (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford), Nahzier Booker (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown), Dylan Clair (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College HS), Tyler Frey (York, Pa./Central York) and Brady Thompson (Green Lane, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) have each recorded one.

The Huskies have intercepted at least one pass in four games this season, including three in their 27-21 victory at No. 24 Shepherd. Turner opened the scoring with a 16-yard interception return for a touchdown, Bloomsburg's first pick-six since Aaron Trumino accomplished the feat against Stonehill on Sept. 7, 2019. Garcia intercepted a pass deflected by Booker late in the first half, while Booker added a fourth-quarter interception that set up the field goal establishing the final margin.

Bloomsburg also recorded two interceptions apiece against Fairmont State, Gannon and Lackawanna. The Huskies' nine interceptions have helped produce 12 total takeaways and a plus-four turnover margin through seven contests.

ACHENBACH MOVES THE CHAINS
Alex Achenbach (Tower City, Pa./Williams Valley) leads Bloomsburg with 26 receptions for 221 yards. The possession receiver caught eight passes for 79 yards at Gannon, the team's highest single-game reception total this season. His short- and intermediate-route production complements the downfield threats of Wolfe and Diaz.

BOOKER IN THE BACKFIELD
Nahzier Booker (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) has 47 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks through seven games, along with an interception. He recorded 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks at Fairmont State to earn the season-opening PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week award. A further Defensive Athlete of the Week honor following Shepherd is pending public announcement.

WOLFE PACKS A PUNCH
Justin Wolfe (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area) leads Bloomsburg with 378 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 24 catches, averaging 15.8 yards per reception and 54.0 yards per game. He has added 65 rushing yards and a touchdown, giving him five total offensive touchdowns. Wolfe had 95 receiving yards at Fairmont State and caught two touchdowns at Lackawanna.

CLANCY CONTINUES TO ROLL
Declan Clancy (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) has 681 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 133 carries, averaging 5.1 yards per attempt and 97.3 per game. He opened the season with 135 yards at Fairmont State, scored the game-winning overtime touchdown at Gannon and rushed for three scores at Lackawanna. His 37 carries at Shepherd were a season high. The last time a Husky carried the ball more than 30 times was Harlon Hill Winner and Bloomsburg Athletics Hall of Fame member, Franklyn Quiteh. The last time a Husky had 30 or more carries was in 2013 when Quiteh carried the ball 30 times against West Chester on November 9, 2013.

CHASING 1K
Declan Clancy (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) needs 319 yards to reach 1,000 rushing yards for the Huskies this season. He's averaging 97.1 yards per game and with four games left in the regular season, Clancy needs to average just 79.75 yards per game. To put it in perspective, the last 1,000-yard rusher for the Huskies was Lawrence Elliot, Jr. who had 1,014 yards in 2016. Kaleb Monaco was just 48 yards shy of the 1K mark in 2023. Franklyn Quiteh holds the school record with 2,195 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns in 2013. He finished his Hall of Fame career with 7,523 yards, 22 consecutive games with 100+ rushing yards, and 42 100-yard rushing games in his four year career.

DONOHUE DISRUPTS
Ian Donohue (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) has 22 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks, along with two forced fumbles and four quarterback hurries. He had 2.5 sacks at Fairmont State and 3.5 tackles for loss at Lackawanna. Donohue earned his first career PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week honor after the Shippensburg victory.

ETHERIDGE LEADS THE OFFENSE
Zayd Etheridge (Bridgeport, Pa./Upper Merion) has completed 68 of 114 passes for 854 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions in six appearances, with a 59.6% completion rate and 131.8 efficiency rating. He completed 20 passes for 240 yards at Gannon and threw three touchdowns at Lackawanna, including an 80-yard completion to Xavier Diaz (Mount Carmel, Pa./Mount Carmel).

ZIMMERMAN DOES IT ALL
Eli Zimmerman (Schnecksville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) has rushed for 204 yards and two touchdowns on 42 carries. He also provides a major threat in the return game, highlighted by a 76-yard kickoff-return touchdown against Shippensburg that earned him his second career PSAC East Special Teams Athlete of the Week award. The Huskies average 22.0 yards per kickoff return and 14.1 per punt return. The updated NCAA Millersville report lists Zimmerman as the PSAC leader with 524 combined kick-return yards.

KASHYNSKI PUTS POINTS ON THE BOARD
Peter Kashynski (Falls Church, Va./Justice) has converted seven of 11 field-goal attempts and all 21 extra-point attempts through seven games. His longest field goal is 41 yards, and he is 2-for-2 on attempts from 40-49 yards. His tying field goal at Gannon helped force overtime. Kashynski's PSAC East Special Teams Athlete of the Week recognition following Shepherd is pending public announcement.

TURNOVER PRODUCTION
Bloomsburg has forced 12 turnovers, including nine interceptions and three fumble recoveries, against eight turnovers lost. Cole Turner (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) and Garrett Garcia (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) lead the team with two interceptions each. Turner returned an interception 16 yards for a touchdown. Brady Thompson (Green Lane, Pa./Upper Perkiomen), Idriz Ahmetovic (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford), Nahzier Booker (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown), Dylan Clair (Harleysville, Pa./La Salle College HS) and Tyler Frey (York, Pa./Central York) have one interception apiece. The Huskies have scored 41 points off turnovers while allowing 27.

THIRD-DOWN SUCCESS
Bloomsburg converts 45.7% of third downs (43-for-94), ranking 27th nationally and third in the PSAC, while limiting opponents to 32.3% (30-for-93), the best mark in the conference. Millersville converts 38.8% and allows 43.5% defensively. Sustaining possessions while forcing the Marauders off the field could prove decisive.

PRESSURE UP FRONT
The Huskies have 50 tackles for loss and 15 sacks through seven games, averaging 7.1 tackles for loss per game. Donohue (11 TFL, 5.5 sacks) and Booker (9.5 TFL, 4.5 sacks) have combined for 20.5 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. Millersville ranks 144th nationally and 15th in the PSAC with 3.14 sacks allowed per game.

OFFENSIVE NOTES
Bloomsburg averages 25.1 points and 295.7 yards per game, totaling 2,070 yards on 416 plays. The Huskies have 1,114 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns and 956 passing yards and five touchdowns. Clancy has 681 rushing yards; Wolfe has 378 receiving yards and four scores; Achenbach has 26 catches. SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES
Zimmerman has a 76-yard kickoff-return touchdown and Brady Ronan (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone Area) scored on a punt return against Shippensburg.
