Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Bloomsburg women's basketball team faced defeat in Lock Haven 70-56, going 1-1 on their two-game road trip.
The Huskies shot just under 40% from the field (20-for-51). They also made four three-pointers out of 13 (30.8%).
Alison Hatajik (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg) had an outstanding game, leading the team in points with 23, two points shy of her career best.
Lex Ferguson (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) followed behind, scoring 10 points,Â
Maddison Maynard (Lansford, Pa./Panther Valley) and
Leah Kale (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) both ended the game with six points and
Kelly Leszcynski (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) rounded out the starters with four points.Â
From the bench,
Ava Stevenson (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) earned four points,
Maddie LaFrance (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) scored two and
Sophia Shults (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) ended with one.
First Half:
The game started with Lock Haven scoring four points within two minutes. Down 4-0, Ferguson was assisted by Leszcynski in scoring the first points in the game for the Huskies. Maynard then got an and-1 to secure three points and turn the tide in the Huskies' favor. Maynard returned with a three-pointer to boost the lead to 8-6. After this score, Bloomsburg struggled to keep up, ending the first quarter down 19-12.
Hatajik made her presence known by scoring two quick buckets to make the lead 19-16. She was all over this quarter, scoring 14 points in this quarter alone. Hatajik's takeover helped the Huskies stay within single digits and were down 38-32 at the end of the half.
Second Half:
Leszcynski started the scoring for the Huskies with a good jumper. Bloomsburg stayed within single digits through the entire third quarter, but was just unable to get over the hump. Bloomsburg went into the final quarter down 51-44.
In the final quarter, the Huskies scoring started to run out. After a Hatajik layup and a three from Kale, the game was 60-52 in Lock Haven's favor. Leszcynski and Hatajik both scored two points, but Lock Haven ran away with the game, winning 70-56.

The Huskies will return to the Nelson Field House to face East Stroudsburg on Feb. 4. Tip off will be at 5:30 p.m.
