LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – After an incredible debut season with the Huskies,
Lexi Tepper (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
Â
Tepper earned the honor after claiming the PSAC title in the Mile, the 3,000-meter and anchoring the Huskies' championship-winning Distance Medley Relay squad. Tepper also placed second in the 800-meter as a part of her 30.5 points scored for Bloomsburg at the PSAC Championships.
Â
The junior broke a pair of school records this season in the 800-meter and the Mile. At the Fastrack National Invitational on Friday, February 6, Tepper shattered the Huskies mile record by nearly six seconds with a time of 4:54.15. The Cherry Hill, N.J. native followed up that performance with a second school record the following week, posting a 2:15.02 in the 800-meter at the YSU Last Chance Meet.
Â
Tepper was named the Overall Women's MVP and Outstanding Women's Track Athlete at the PSAC Championship meet. The junior also earned USTFCCCA Indoor Track and Field All-Region honors in four different events (800-meter, Mile, 3,000-meter and DMR).
Â
It is the first time a member of the Huskies' indoor track and field team has earned a major award from the PSAC.
