EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's track and field team won 10 events and turned in an impressive showing on both on the track and in the field events at the ESU All-American Meet on Saturday.
Mikaela Sullivan (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) broke the outdoor shot put record to highlight the day for the Huskies.
The Bloomsburg throwers stole the show with a strong day across all events. Sullivan etched her name in the Huskies' record book once again as she broke the shot put record by .10 meters with a throw of 13.15 meters (43' 1.75") to win the event. She owns both the indoor and outdoor shot put record now. Sullivan is now ranked third in the PSAC.
Laura Dunn (/) finished seventh with a throw of 11.41 meters (37' 5.25").
Kelly Leszcynski (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) continued her hot start to the season with a win in the javelin as she improved on her PSAC and NCAA provisional mark with a throw of 47.61 meters (156' 2"). She is first in the conference and is ranked eighth in the NCAA.
Clara Dellinger (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) finished 10
th with a throw of 30.81 meters (101' 1").
Julia Beccari (Lake Ronkonkoma, Pa./Sachem North) turned in a pair of strong performances In the hammer and discus. She took second in the hammer with a career-best throw of 46.03 meters (151' 0") and won the discus with a throw of 40.52 meters (132' 11"). Beccari is now ranked ninth in the PSAC in the hammer and is fifth in the discus.
Grace Lippincott (State College, Pa./State College Area) took seventh in the hammer (42.33 meters • 138' 10") and
Annissah Magloire (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg Senior) finished ninth with a throw of 40.96 meters (134' 4"). Sullivan finished eighth overall in the discus with a throw of 35.51 meters (116' 6").
The Huskies had a strong day in the jumps as well as
Devin Hubler (Minersville, Pa./Minersville Area) took second overall in the triple jump with a distance of 11.37 meters (37' 3.75") while
Lindsey Pelaez (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) qualified for the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a jump of 11.11 meters (36' 5.5") to take fourth overall and is now ranked 11
th in the conference.
Aria Messner (Avoca, Pa./Pittston Area) took second in the long jump with a jump of 5.33 meters (17' 6") and Hubler finished third with a jump of 5.32 meters (17' 5.5").
Lorelei Eberly (Downingtown, Pa./Coatesville Area) took sixth (4.95 meters • 16' 3") and
Jewel Little (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg Area) finished seventh (4.92 meters • 16' 1.75").
Sophia Shults (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) finished eighth overall with a jump of 4.67 meters (15' 4").
Messner cleared 1.57 meters (5' 1.75") in the high jump to take third overall and Little cleared 1.52 meters (4' 11.75") to finish fifth.
Paige Casterline (Bucks County, Pa./Palisades) took eighth overall as she cleared 1.42 meters (4' 7.75").
Bailey O'Keefe (Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley) finished sixth overall in the pole vault as she hit 2.91 meters (9' 6.5") and
Hannah Gerhart (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) cleared 2.76 meters (9' 0.5") to take seventh overall.
Evelina Schaaf (/) finished eighth with a jump of 2.61 meters (8' 6.75").
The Huskies picked up seven of their event wins on the track led once again by
Abby Parise (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area). Parise posted a 1.03.55 in the 400-meter hurdles to win the event and is just 0.04 off her school record time. Madeline Ikeler took second with a time of 1:07.87. Parise won the 100-meter hurdles as well with a time of 15.16 and Ikeler took third with a time of 15.56. Pelaez finished sixth with a time of 16.40 and
Courtney O'Hagan (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) finished eighth with a time of 17.03.
Kendra Stout (/) won the 100-meter sprint with a time of 12.67 while
Aleese Stair (/) took seventh with a time of 13.38.
Abby Rochester (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) finished 10
th overall with a time of 13.56 and O'Hagan finished 13
th with a time of 14.27.
Stout also won the 200-meter sprint with a PSAC qualifying time of 25.35 and is now ranked eighth in the conference. Stair took 12
th overall with a time of 28.20.
Alexis Tepper qualified for the PSAC Outdoor Championships as she won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.53 and is ranked 10
th in the conference.
Cori McCormick (Ashland, Pa./North Schuylkill) finished third at 2:25.77 and
Sydney Werner (Reading, Pa./Conrad Weiser) finished fourth with a time of 2:26.43.
Ashlyn Albright (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) took fifth with a time of 2:27.34 and
Josephine Reed (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) finished ninth at 2:29.58.
Werner won the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:53.24 while Reed took second with a time of 4:53.61.
Alyssa Cunningham (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) finished sixth overall with a time of 4:56.34.
Tepper, McCormick, Cunningham, and Albright won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:15.96 and Stair, Stout, Rochester, and Messner took third in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 50.19.
The Huskies return to action next week when the take on the SU Multis and Bison Outdoor Classic. The SU Multis is April 9-10 while the Bison Outdoor Classic is April 10-12.
