LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Following a 2-0 week for the Huskies, sophomore defender Cassi Snyder (Hegins, Pa./Tri-Valley) received PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week honors from the conference office Monday afternoon.

Snyder's distinction comes after Bloomsburg began the week with a 5-0 victory on the road over Lackawanna. Aiding her team's defensive efforts, Snyder and the Huskies recorded their third shutout of the season with the decision against the Falcons. The highlight of the weekend for Bloomsburg was returning to Steph Pettit Stadium with a 2-1 victory against No. 17 Kutztown.

Snyder delivered on both ends of the field, notably scoring the game-winning goal for the Huskies in the 54th minute. The defender played a pivotal part in limiting an attack for the Golden Bears that entered Saturday's contest averaging 3.71 goals per match. Additionally, Kutztown entered the day with its five top scorers having at least four goals to their name. Despite Bloomsburg surrendering the opening goal of the match, Snyder and the Huskies prevented the aforementioned five from contributing on the goal-scoring front. As a team, Bloomsburg blocked seven of the Golden Bears' 19 shots, with Snyder coming up with arguably the biggest to deny Kutztown joint top goal scorer Corinne Morgan in front of goal from just over six yards out.
