LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Bloomsburg football standouts Eli Zimmerman (Schnecksville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) and Ian Donohue (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division weekly honors Monday following the Huskies' 33-31 comeback victory over Shippensburg.

Zimmerman was named the PSAC East Special Teams Athlete of the Week for the second time in his career, while Donohue collected his first career PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week honor.

Zimmerman delivered the decisive special teams play in Bloomsburg's comeback from a 21-point deficit. After a safety gave the Huskies their first lead of the game, Zimmerman fielded the ensuing free kick at the Bloomsburg 24-yard line and raced 76 yards for a touchdown.

The return completed a nine-point swing in 12 seconds and gave the Huskies a 33-24 advantage with 5:05 remaining. It ultimately provided the winning points as Bloomsburg held on for the two-point victory.

Zimmerman finished with 110 return yards, averaging 49.5 yards on two kickoff returns while adding 11 yards on two punt returns. His 9-yard punt return late in the second quarter gave Bloomsburg possession at its 44-yard line and helped set up Peter Kashynski's (Falls Church, Va./Justice) 37-yard field goal before halftime.

Zimmerman also rushed for 84 yards on nine carries, including a 45-yard run during Bloomsburg's first touchdown drive. He finished with a game-high 194 all-purpose yards as the Huskies improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the PSAC East.

Donohue anchored a Bloomsburg defense that limited Shippensburg to 30 rushing yards and 1 yard per carry. He recorded six tackles, including three tackles for loss totaling 13 yards, two sacks totaling 12 yards, a forced fumble and three quarterback hurries.

The defensive lineman accounted for two of Bloomsburg's three sacks and nearly one-third of the Huskies' 10 tackles for loss.

Donohue recorded a 7-yard sack to force a three-and-out on Shippensburg's opening possession. He added another sack and forced a fumble during the Raiders' following series, helping Bloomsburg force another punt.

The Huskies finished the game with three sacks, 10 tackles for loss, eight pass breakups and eight quarterback hurries. Bloomsburg held Shippensburg to 305 total yards despite the Raiders running 80 offensive plays.

Zimmerman, Donohue and the Huskies return to action Saturday when Bloomsburg travels to Scranton to face Lackawanna at 1 p.m.
