2009-10: Posted a record of 29-9 for the season...Made his third trip to the NCAA championships by taking third at the EWL championships...Heading into the NCAA championships Schmelyun had won 10 of his last 11 bouts...Had a stretch of four matches during the season where he did not allow his opponents to score winning by scores of 18-0, 16-0, 16-0 and by fall in 1:18...Finished second at the Southern Scuffle. Among his four wins was a victory over the defending NCAA champion Jarrod King of Edinboro...Was named the PSAC Wrestler of the Week on Jan. 5 after the Southern Scuffle..Finished his career with a record of 117-5, tied for sixth all-time in career wins...Had 39 career falls, the third most in school history.
