Rivera appeared in all 11 games in 2009 as a reserve safety and as a key member of numerous special teams. Having recorded 15 tackles and 2 pass break-ups on the season, he should see his role in the secondary increase, and with his size and athleticism, Rivera will be counted on to make impact plays. He is the younger brother of starting corner, Oscar Rivera.

2011: Logged seven tackles against C.W. Post (10/28)...Registered six tackles in a 55-42 comeback win over West Chester (10/22)...Recorded six tackles in a 38-18 win over Shippensburg (10/15)...Forced a fumble and made two tackles in a 45-10 win over Cheyney (10/8)...Had five tackles and caused a broken up pass in a 32-20 victory over East Stroudsburg (10/1)...Made five tackles in a 46-7 victory over Millersville (9/24)...Posted four tackles and had a broken up pass in the 20-16 victory over IUp (9/15)...Recorded four assisted tackles and an interception in the 45-10 win over Clarion (9/10)...Recorded seven tackles and broke up a pass in the season opener victory over Ashland (9/1)...

2010: Recorded five tackles against Ashland (9/4)...Recorded two tackles and one broken up pass against Clarion (9/11)...Recorded one tackle and intercepted one pass against IUP (9/18)...Recorded one tackle for a loss of 8 yards and also had one quarterback hurry in win over Millersville (9/25)...Recorded four tackles in the win over East Stroudsburg (10/02)..Had two pass breakups and recorded two tackles in win over East Stroudsburg (10/02)...Made one tackle in win over Cheyney (10/9)...Broke up one pass against Shippensburg (10/16)...Had one interception against West Chester (10/23)...Made three tackles and broke up two passes in the win over C.W. Post (10/30).
