BLOOMSBURG--The women's swim team defeated Albright College by a score of 151-103 on Saturday at the Nelson Field House.
Junior
Brittany McNeil (Oxford, Oxford Area) led the Huskies with two first place finishes in the 100-breast with a time of 1:08 and in the 200-breast with a time of 2:29.14.
Jacquie Glaser (Easton, Easton) had a first place finish in the 100-free with a time of 56.37 and a second place finish in the 50-free with a time of 25.78.
The Huskies swept multiple events including the 1000-free, 100-breast, 200-fly, 200-back, and the 200-breast. In the 1000-free
Miranda Steel (Hillsborough, NJ, Hillsborough) took first with a time of 11:09.29,
Rachel Nauman (Manheim, Hempfield) finished second in a time of 11:21.04, and
Brie Globig (New Kensington, Plum)took third with a time of 11:25.77.
In the 100-breast McNeil got her first win of the day, while
Lisa Ferrigno (West Chester, Bishop Shanahan) took second in a time of 1:10.87. Freshman
Ali Luzik (Halifax, Halifax)finished third with a time of 1:11.61.
Danielle Wrecsics (Coopersburg, Palisades) finished first in the 200-fly with a time of 2:20.08, sophomore
Kelsey Brooker (Stevens, Cocalico)took second in a time of 2:21.70, while
Melissa Cook (Pottstown, Pottstown)finished third in a time of 2:29.83.
In the 200-back
Sarah Grawe (Stafford, VA, North Stafford)finished first for the Huskies in a time of 2:14.95, while
Madeline Barlow (Yardley, Pennsbury) was a close second in a time of 2:15.62.
Megan Sandoe (Downingtown, Henderson) took third with a time of 2:20.75.
McNeil picked up her second win of the day in the 200-breast, while Ferrigno finished second in a time of 2:33.63. Wrecsics rounded up the Huskies top performers finishing third in the event with a time of 2:36.27.
Bloomsburg 1-1, will host West Chester on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
