Box Score

BLOOMSBURG-Four different Huskies found the back of cage as No. 4 Bloomsburg University (11-2, 4-1 PSAC East) comfortably recorded a 4-1 victory over visiting No. 10 Millersville University (7-9, 1-5 PSAC East) Tuesday night at Redman Stadium.

Prior to the game, the Bloomsburg women donned pink t-shirts in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Tonight's game was part of the Huskies' annual Play for the Cure festivities.

Lauren McGinley (Wilkes-Barre, Coughlin) was the first to strike for the Maroon and Gold. A shot by Amber Aulenbach (Fleetwood, Oley Valley) caromed off Millersville keeper Sara Dickinson and found Amanda Riley (Tannersville, Pocono Mountain East), who fed McGinley for the game's first goal, putting Bloomsburg up 1-0 less than four minutes into the game.

The Marauders responded in the 16th minute. From just inside the arc, Brittany Troutman launched a shot that lofted through the air unimpeded to hit the right side of the cage for the equalizer goal.

After the break, BU's Aulenbach looked to the weak side of the action and found an open Betsy Renn (Herndon, Line Mountain), who snuck her shot into the right side of the goal for the 2-1 lead.

In the 55th minute, Lindsay Danz (Rehoboth Beach, DE, Sussex Technical) gave the Huskies their third goal when she fired a long bullet across the goal from the right side into the bottom left.

The Huskies iced the game with less than eight minutes to play, as Lauren McGinley (Wilkes-Barre, Coughlin) crossed a pass in front of the net and Alexis Weber (Bear, DE, William Penn) connected with a one touch shot to give Bloomsburg the 4-1 win.

Meghan Hollenbach (Blandon, Fleetwood) had three saves between the pipes for Bloomsburg, while Millersville's Dickinson tallied six stops.

The Huskies travel to East Stroudsburg for their next game at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 30.
