Box Score

WEST CHESTER—Bloomsburg University fell to third-ranked Lock Haven 20-5 in the semifinals of the 2010 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Lacrosse Tournament on Friday at Vonnie Gros Field at West Chester University.

The Huskies (13-6) started strong, getting a goal from Samantha Mazzie (Barto, Boyertown) just 35 seconds into the game to take a quick 1-0 lead. Lock Haven then responded with eight unanswered goals, with three coming from Kayleigh Johnson. Bloomsburg stopped the streak as Samantha King (Elkton, MD, North East) found the back of the net at the 7:57 mark. She then came right back and scored again less than a minute later to bring the Huskies to within five with 6:59 left.

The Lady Eagles then ended the half with four straight goals, including one with seven seconds left, to take a 12-3 lead into halftime.

Lock Haven started the second half with three unanswered goals to take a 15-3 lead. The Huskies got second half goals from Tia Mazzie (Barto, Boyertown) and Gabrielle Lochetto (Phoenixville, Owen J. Roberts), but the Lady Eagles were able to close out the game for the win.

Lock Haven improved to 15-1 with the win and will face West Chester, which beat Gannon 19-18 in day's other semifinal, in the championship game for the fifth consecutive time.

The Huskies finished the season second in the PSAC East and their 13 wins tied a single season school record, originally set in 2003. They also scored 268 goals, one short of the school record set last season.
