Women's Swim Team Performs Well at Drexel

PHILADELPHIA – The Bloomsburg University women's swimming team performed at Drexel University on Saturday afternoon, as Drexel hosted the Huskies and Shippensburg. The Huskies defeated Shippensburg by a score of 151-110, but lost to Drexel, 155-106.

The 200-medley relay team of Sarah Grawe (Stafford, VA, North Stafford), Lisa Ferrigno (West Chester, Bishop Shanahan),Mel Redican (Dresher, Upper Dublin) and Nicole Martin (Ephrata, Ephrata) opened the meet taking third in a time of 1:54.67.

Brittany McNeil (Oxford, Oxford Area) went on to take first place in both the 100-breast with a time of 1:08.55 and the 200-breast in 2:28.54.

In the 1000-free Bridget Hilferty (Royersford, Perkiomen Valley) took third with a time of 10:54.74 and Grawe placed second in the 200-free in a time of 2:00.16.

In the 200-butterfly Madeline Barlow (Yardley, Pennsbury) finished third for the Huskies in a time of 2:17.22 and took third in the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:01.93. Martin finished third in the 50-free with a time of 25.47 and also took third in the 100-free with a time of 55.60.
                                                                             
Grawe took second for the Huskies in the 200-back with a time of 2:13.26, while Rachel Nauman (Manheim, Hempfield) placed third in the 500-free in a time of 5:26.81.

In the 200-IM Ferringo took second with a time of 2:19.94, while Martin placed third in a time of 2:19.99.

The Huskies ended the day with the team of McNeil, Grawe, Hilferty and Julia DeVincent (Ambler, Upper Dublin)taking second in the 400-free relay in a time of 3:43.74.

Bloomsburg 5-5, will travel to IUP for Saturday and Sunday, January 28 and 29.
