BLOOMSBURG- The number one nationally ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team extended their winning streak to 15 games today as they defeated East Stroudsburg University, 6-0. With the win the Huskies improve to 15-0 and 8-0 in the PSAC, while East Stroudsburg drops to 7-9 and 2-6 in conference play.
The day began emotionally for the Huskies, as the team bid farwell to four graduating seniors who will be finishing their final season. Prior to the game,
Amanda Riley (Tannersville, Pocono Mountain East),
Lindsay Danz (Rehoboth Beach, DE, Sussex Technical),
Becca Sherman (Milford, Delaware Valley), and
Betsy Renn (Herndon, Line Mountain) were honored for their accomplishments and contributions to the Bloomsburg field hockey program.
Nicole Bruce (Dalton, Lackawanna Trail) broke out early in scoring for the Huskies, with less than a minute into the game Bruce put Bloomsburg up 1-0 after scoring off a pass from Riley.
Jenna DiSabatino (Mountain Top, Crestwood) would score in the 13th minute after drawing the goalie out with a pass from Riley and putting the ball to the left side of the net, giving the Huskies a 2-0 lead.
Almost 15 minutes would go by before the Huskies struck again. BU's
Jenna DiSabatino (Mountain Top/Crestwood) would have back-to-back goals, making it a 2-0 game aftering firing a hard shot to the back of the net.
With less than a minute into the second half, Riley came out firing and giving Bloomsburg a 4-0 lead. Bruce would have her second goal of the game at the 45:08 mark after DiSabatino made cross to the left and Bruce fired the ball past the goalie to net.
Amber Aulenbach (Fleetwood, Oley Valley) would have her fifth goal of the season to give the Huskies their final shot of the game, after she hit the back of the cage from the top of the circle.

Meghan Hollenbach (Blandon, Fleetwood) would record one save in 62 minutes of play, while
Megan Eppley (Camp Hill, Camp Hill) would make a save in eight minutes. The Warriors goalkeeper Maureen Ordung would register five saves, while Sarah Dobroskey would make four in 12 minutes of play.
Bloomsburg is back in action on Wednesday, October 19 as they travel to Kutztown for a PSAC East match-up. Game-time is scheduled for 7 pm.
