Palek Sets New School Record in Weight Throw

SUSQUEHANNA—The Bloomsburg University men's indoor track team took part in Susquehanna Open on Saturday.

In the 35 lb weight throw competition Cory Palek (Shenandoah, Shenandoah Valley) had a toss of 13.10 meters to grab 14th place overall and set a new school record in the process.
Ryan Dickerson (Harleysville, Souderton) took first place in the 55 meter dash with a PSAC-qualifying time of 6.57.
In the high jump event Earvin Paul (Spring Valley, NY, Paramus Catholic) jumped 1.83 meters (6'-0”) to take first place.
The 4x400 relay team of Jessie Mustapha (Philadelphia, University City)Devin Barr (Pottstown, Pottsgrove)Jared Arnold (Philadelphia, Engineering & Science ) and Ryan Dickerson (Harleysville, Souderton) took first place with a time of 3:28.08.
The Huskies recorded 18 PSAC qualifying performances on the day, both men and women combined.

Bloomsburg will be back in action next Saturday and Sunday at Edinboro for the PSAC Championships.
