EDINBORO—The No. 14 ranked Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team defeated Edinboro University, 12-8, on Friday in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) match up.
Edinboro held the early edge in the game jumping out to a 1-0 lead just 0:53 into the game.
Sam Mazzie (Barto, Boyertown) scored for the Huskies with less than a minute later. Edinboro would take the lead again at 27:19, 2-1.
The Huskies scored the next seven goals with
Kelsey Schwan (Burnet Hills, Burnet Hills-Ballston Lake )scoring off a free position shot at the 22:35 mark.
Kelsey Metzler (Schwenksville, Perkiomen Valley) would score the next two goals for the Huskies, one off an assist from
Gabrielle Lochetto (Phoenixville, Owen J. Roberts), putting the score at 4-2 at the 18:47 mark.
Tia Mazzie (Barto, Boyertown) would find the back of the net at 9:14 off a free position shot, putting the Huskies up by three.
Aubrey Bossert (Ambler, Wissahickon) would score off a pass from
Lyndsey Babilon (Boyertown, Boyertown) with 8:45 left in the half. Babilon would add another assist at the 7:05 mark, when
Maggie Canavan (Erdenheim, Springfield) scored off her pass, putting the score at 7-2.
Canavan would score again for the Huskies with 0:51 left in the half, putting them up by six. With less than 10 seconds left Edinboro would add a goal, ending the half at 8-3.
Bloomsburg opened the second half with less than three minutes in when Babilon hit the back of the net. Edinboro would add another goal at the 24:00 mark.
Samantha King (Elkton, MD, North East) put the Huskies up 10-4 after finding the back of the net at 19:19. Metzler would add back-to-back goals over the next 2:07 minutes, making the score 12-4.
The Fighting Scots would score their second goal of the half at 13:50. Edinboro would score the next two goals, making the score 12-7 with 6:15 left to go.
Edinboro would score the final goal with 1:02 to play, while the Huskies would post the 12-8 win over the Fighting Scots.

Bloomsburg goes to 8-6, 5-4 in the PSAC, with the win, while Edinboro falls to 4-9, 0-8 in the PSAC. The Huskies travel to Slippery Rock on Saturday at 1 pm.
