BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's swim team lost to West Chester on Friday by a score of 151-111 at the Nelson Field House pool posting 11 PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) qualifying times.
Leading Bloomsburg with two PSAC-qualifying marks each were
Bridget Hilferty (Royersford/Perkiomen Valley) and
Alicia Frey (Ellicot City, MD/Wilde Lake).
Hilferty took first in both the 500- and 1000-free events. In the 500 she swam a 5:16.24, while in the 1000-free Hilferty posted a time of 10:46.18.
Frey qualified for PSAC's in the 200-fly and the 200-IM. In the 200-fly Frey was third in 2:15.56, while in the 200-IM she had a mark of 2:16.56.
In the 100-back
Alex Wheatley (Dresher/Upper Dublin) had a big win with a PSAC-qualifying time of 1:01.14, winning by nearly a second-and-a-half.
Also turning in a first place performance was
Madeline Barlow (Yardley/Pennsbury) in the 100-fly in a PSAC-qualifying mark of 1:00.52, while
Morgan Johnston (Shippensburg/Shippensburg) was third in a conference championship qualifying time of 1:10.26.
The Huskies, 1-1, will return to the water on Friday, Nov. 2 at Gannon.
