Huskies Break Several Records at NCAA Team Challenge

GENEVA, OH—The Bloomsburg University men's indoor track team placed 14th out of 22 competing teams at the NCAA Division II Team Challenge at the Spire Institute.  Five different school records were broke during today's events. 

In the 200 meter dash, Devin Barr (Pottstown/Pottsgrove) broke the school record with a time of 22.11 which placed him fifth in the field.  Cal Rosenstein (Shohola/Delaware Valley) and Jessie Mustapha (Philadelphia/University City) set school best records in the 400 meter dash.  Rosenstein posted a 49.30 time in the prelims while Mustapha ran a 49.34 in the finals.  Mustapha placed ninth while Rosenstein was 11th. 

In the 800 meter run, Zach Eyer (Berwick/Berwick Area) set a Bloomsburg school record while placing 16th at the event.  Eyer ran a 1:57.91 which narrowly beat the previous record of 1:58.57.  Bryan Hennessey (Lower Gwynedd/Pennridge) hit the PSAC mark in the 800 meter, posting a time of 1:59.87.

Bloomsburg's final record setting performance came in the 4x400.  The team of Barr, Rosenstein, Mustapha, and Marvin Carter (Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Regional) posted an NCAA provisional time of 3:16.75.  Today's time broke the previous record which was set in last year's PSAC meet.  The team's time places them 13th on the national list. 

Earvin Paul (Spring Valley, NY/Paramus Catholic) finished fifth in high jump as he jumped 1.91 meters while Stephen Grib (Vernon, NJ/Vernon) posted a personal best in the pole vault, jumping 4.28 meters. 

The Bloomsburg University men's indoor track team will be back in action next Saturday, February 11th as they travel to compete in the Happy Valley Classic at State College.
