Lacrosse Team Falls to Seton Hill

GREENSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team lost to Seton Hill University, 13-12, on Saturday.
 
After falling behind 1-0 early in the game, the Huskies scored six of the next seven goals to lead 6-2 with 13:47 left in the half. Carly Ball (Lansdale/North Penn) got the Huskies going with a goal with 26:38 to go in the half. Ashley Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) followed up with a goal just 18 seconds later. Julie Falk (Millersville/Penn Manor) and Samantha King (Elkton, MD/North East) then scored to make it 4-1.
 
After a Seton Hill goal make it 4-2, Falk and King scored back-to-back for the second time making it 6-2. The Griffins scored three straight times to close within one goal at 6-5 with 8:41 to play. Bloomsburg extended its lead back to three when King and Falk scored consecutive goals making it 8-5. Seton Hill though closed out the final minute of the half with two goals for an 8-7 Bloomsburg advantage at the break.
 
The Huskies opened the second with Sam Mazzie (Barto/Boyertown) scoring unassisted for a 9-7 lead. Seton Hill then tied the game at 9-all on back-to-back goals with 19:08 to play. Bloomsburg regained the lead when Aubrey Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) scored off a King assist with 15:54 to go.
 
The Griffins came back with consecutive goals to take an 11-10 lead with 10:14 to play. The Huskies tied the game on a goal by Maggie Canavan (Erdenheim/Springfield) with the assist to Falk, then regained the lead when Falk scored her fourth goal of the game with 8:53 to go.
 
Seton Hill though tied the score 42 seconds later and scored the game-clinching goal with 27 seconds to play.
 
Falk finished with five points (four goals and one assist), while King had three goals and one assist. In all seven Bloomsburg players scored goals. In goal Sara Bates (Wading River, NY/Shoreham-Wading River) stopped 15 shots for the Huskies.
 
Bloomsburg, 1-2, plays at West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday at 1 p.m.
