COMPLETE RESULTS
LOCK HAVEN—The Bloomsburg University men's track and field team opened its 2012 outdoor season at the Elliston Early Bird Invitational and had seven PSAC-championship qualifying times at the meet.
Taking first place and qualifying for the PSAC championships in the javelin was
Justin Shirk (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) with a throw of 57.05 meters/187'2”;
Cory Palek (Shenandoah/Shenandoah Valley) in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.31 meters/142'5” and
Matt Stuck (Milton/Milton) in the pole vault with a jump of 4.00 meters/13' 1 ½”.
Qualifying for the PSAC championships were
Devin Barr (Pottstown/Pottsgrove) in the 200-meter dash in 22.74 seconds; while at 400-meters
Marvin Carter (Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Regional),
Jessie Mustapha (Philadelphia/University City) and Jeremy Irvin qualified with times of 49.87, 50.16 and 50.54, respectively. At 5000-meters
Nick Libbi (West Chester/West Chester East) qualified with a time of 15.28.39.
In addition,
Stephen Grib (Vernon, NJ/Vernon) had a solid first day in the decathlon finishing with 2960 points. The decathlon will conclude on Sunday with the 110-hurdles, the discus, the pole vault, javelin and the 1500.
The Huskies will be back in action on March 31 at the Jim Taylor Invitational at Susquehanna University.
