LOCK HAVEN--Bloomsburg University's Stephen Grib (Vernon, NJ/Vernon) was won the decathlon Sunday at the Elliston Early Bird Invitational held at Lock Haven University.

Grib finished with a total of 5802 points to win by more than 400 points over the second place finisher. In the 110-meter hurdles he took first with a time of 16.14 seconds; was third in the discus with a throw of 26.63 meters/87'4"; won the pole vault with a PSAC-qualifying mark of 4.15 meters/13'-7 1/4"; took second in the javelin with a throw of 41.01 meters/134'-6" and won the 1500-meter race in 4:51.45.

His total of 5802 points is ranked among the top 10 in the conference and should be enough to qualify him for the PSAC Championships in May.

The Huskies return to action on Saturday the JIm Taylor Invitational at Susquehanna University.
