Three Huskies Score Their First Goals of the Season to Fuel Bloom Past Seton Hill

Box Score GREENSBURG—The Bloomsburg University field hockey team defeated Seton Hill 3-1 Wednesday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game.  Stephanie Halsted (Fairfax Station, VA/South County) and Laura Gerhard (Catasauqua/Catasauqua) scored their first career goals, while Jaclyn Beasley (Berlin, NJ/Eastern) scored her first goal of the season in the victory.
 
Seton Hill (4-10, 1-6 PSAC) scored the first goal of the game 12 minutes into the contest to go up 1-0 over the Huskies.  Bloomsburg scored the next three goals to clinch the win.
 
At the 23 minute mark Eleanor Kirby (Garnet Valley/Garnet Valley) passed to Stephanie Halsted (Fairfax Station, VA/South County) who found the back of the cage to tie the score 1-1.  This was Halsted's first career goal for the Huskies.
 
In the second half Jaclyn Beasley (Berlin, NJ/Eastern) scored her first goal of the season seven minutes into the second half with an assist from Brittany Mathews (Reedsville/Indian Valley) to go up 2-1 over the Griffons.
 
Laura Gerhard (Catasauqua/Catasauqua) also scored her first career goal in the game when Angie DeBellis (Zionsville/Emmaus) passed to her in front to push Bloomsburg up 3-1.
 
In goal Megan Eppley (Camp Hill/Camp Hill) made two saves for Bloomsburg.
 
The Huskies, who move to 9-5, 5-2 PSAC, outshot the Griffons 17-4 and held a 16-5 edge in penalty corners.
 
Bloomsburg returns home for back-to-back games.  First the Huskies host second ranked Millersville for continued PSAC competition on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. start.  On Sunday, Oct. 27 the Huskies host seventh ranked Limestone at 12 p.m. while honoring the four seniors; Megan Eppley (Camp Hill/Camp Hill), Jaclyn Beasley (Berlin, NJ/Eastern), Brittany Mathews (Reedsville/Indian Valley), and Samantha Facciolla (Holland/Council Rock South).
