WEST CHESTER--WEST CHESTER—Seven PSAC qualifying mark and three all-time top 10 finishes highlighted the action for the Bloomsburg University women's swimming team in its season opening tri-meet with West Chester and Division I Lehigh University. The Huskies lost to West Chester 170-53 and to Lehigh 159-55.

Leading the way for the Huskies was freshman
Nicole Young (Trooper/Methacton), who in her first collegiate action, swam a 2:27.19 in the 200-breast to take second overall in the event and post a PSAC qualifying time and the fifth fastest time in school history.

Another first year swimmer,
Brooke Gilson (Whitehall/Whitehall), qualified for the PSAC's in the 500-free in 5:15.95, while her time of 10:38.63 in the 1000 free is the ninth fastest time in the school history. Also in the 500-free
Alison Bradway (Tabernacle, NJ/Seneca) qualified for the PSAC's in 5:20.95.

Also qualifying for the PSAC championships was
Meghan Gallagher (Aston/Sun Valley) in the 200-free with a time of 1:58.38, while
Kaci McIlmoyle (Landenberg/Avon Grove) qualified in the 200-IM in 2:13.27. In the 200-fly
Rachel Brooker (Stevens/Cocalico ) qualified in the 200-fly in 2:13.27, while in the 100-free McIlmoyle qualified in 54.79.

In relay action the Huskies team of
Alex Wheatley (Dresher/Upper Dublin),
Nicole Young (Trooper/Methacton),
Rachel Brooker (Stevens/Cocalico ) and
Meghan Gallagher (Aston/Sun Valley) posted a time of 4:01.62 in the 400-medley relay, the eighth fastest time in school history.
