STORYLINE
The Huskies head to Shippensburg with a spot in the PSAC Field Hockey Final Four this weekend. Following a 2-0 first round victory over IUP on Tuesday, Bloomsburg has earned the right to play Shippensburg, the top-ranked team in Division II, in Friday's semifinals. The winner of Friday's match advances to Saturday's Championship Game.

Box Score) Bloomsburg moved on in the PSAC Tournament with its 2-0 win over fifth-seeded IUP on Tuesday at Sports Stadium. Early on the game was played in the middle of the field with neither team getting a good offensive attack going. The Huskies broke through with just over four minutes left in the first half on
Laura Gerhard (Catasauqua/Catasauqua)'s goal.
Megan Eppley (Camp Hill/Camp Hill) turned away IUP's best chance early in the second half with a save on a penalty stroke attempt.
Sam Peters (Yeagerstown/Mifflin County) gave BU some late insurance with a goal in the 59th minute for the final scoring.
SCOUTING SHIPPENSBURG
The Raiders have been ranked atop the national Division II NFHCA rankings for several weeks and have not tasted defeat this season. In search of their second PSAC title in school history, the Raiders are one of just two remaining undefeated teams in the country and have out-scored the other PSAC semifinalists by an 8-3 margin. Shippensburg is led offensively by senior Lauren Taylor's 14 goals while classmate Bre White has 13. Carenna Neely has started all 17 matches and posted a 1.22 goals against average with 51 saves on the season.

Box Score) The Huskies gave Shippensburg perhaps its best battle of the season, taking SU to double overtime on the Raiders' home field on Sept. 28, before falling by a 1-0 final. After playing to a scoreless draw through the first overtime, Shippensburg's Megan Jett ended the game on a goal at the 91:22 mark.
Angie DeBellis (Zionsville/Emmaus) had four of Bloomsburg's seven shot attempts while
Megan Eppley (Camp Hill/Camp Hill) made 10 saves in the cage for the Huskies. Shippensburg has been taken to overtime only one other time this season, winning 1-0 vs. Millersville in one overtime period.
HUSKIES PSAC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Bloomsburg has won 18 PSAC Championships in school history, last winning the title two years ago with conference tournament wins over IUP and Shippensburg to capture the 2011 PSAC crown. Bloomsburg defeated Shippensburg in the PSAC finals in 2006, 2009 and 2011.
PSAC TOURNAMENT PICTURE
In Tuesday's other first round match, West Chester easily defeated East Stroudsburg by a 6-1 score. That victory moves the Golden Rams, the two-time defending national champions, into Friday's second semifinal contest against second-seeded Millersville at 3:30 p.m. The winner of that contest will face the victor of the Bloomsburg-Shippensburg game in Saturday's final. The championship game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start on Saturday at Shippensburg's Robb Sports Complex.
