Box Score BLOOMSBURG—The No. 15 Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team lost to No. 8 Lock Haven 15-5 Saturday at Sports Stadium in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup. Prior to the game both teams honored Lax-4-Life to raise awareness of suicide prevention.
The Lady Eagles (8-1 overall, 5-0 PSAC) started with an 8-0 goal run in a span of 20 minutes to gain a comfortable lead over the Huskies.
Marisa Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford) got the Huskies (3-7, 1-4) on the board with a goal at 5:12 to go into halftime 8-1.
The second half was back and forth between the two teams. Lock Haven scored at 25:52 to give them a 9-1 lead. Moley dished one to Falk two minutes later who finished to make the score 9-2.
Falk scored another goal with 20 minutes left off a pass from
Morgan Sherriff (Downingtown/Coatesville) as a response to another Lady Eagles goal to make the score 10-3.
With just over 13 minutes on the clock Falk passed to
Sam Mazzie (Barto/Boyertown) in front who beat the goalkeeper making the score 11-4.
Moley scored the Huskies final goal of the game off a free position shot with 11 minutes remaining to bring the score to 12-5. Lock Haven scored the final three goals to win 15-5.
Falk and Moley both finished with two goals and one assist each for Bloomsburg.
Amber Shifflett (Pasadena, MD/Chesapeake) led the team in groundballs with four, and caused a team-high three turnovers. In goal
Sara Bates (Wading River, NY/Shoreham-Wading River) made six saves for the Huskies.
Kelly Hamilton finished the game with five goals, while Chelsea Borrino dished out six assists for the Lady Eagles.
The Huskies host Gannon on Tuesday, Apr. 9 at Sports Stadium with a 4 p.m. start time.
