EDINBORO—The Huskies Richard Perry (Meriden, CT/Middletown) won his 100th career match, but the Bloomsburg University wrestling team lost to No. 14 ranked Edinboro University, 29-10, on Saturday night.
 
Perry became the 17th wrestler in school history to reach 100 career wins when he picked up a 12-4 major decision over Vince Pickett. Perry also extended his winning streak to 21 straight matches and improved his career mark of 100-28.
 
Perry was in control from the start getting two first period takedowns, then added another in the second period and closed the match with two more in the third.
 
The Fighting Scots got off to a fast start using wins from their five nationally ranked wrestlers in the first five weight classes. Of those five wins four came with bonus points helping the home team to a 23-0 lead.
 
Bloomsburg got on the board when Josh Veltre (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia), ranked 15^th, scored a 7-3 win. The win improves his season record to 15-3. At 174 pounds Mike Desssino followed up with a 2-0 win. Dessino got a third period reversal to get the win.
 
The Fighting Scots other two wins came at 184 and 285. In the 285-pound matchup, which featured a pair of ranked wrestlers, Edinboro's Ernest James got a 2-1 win over the Huskies Justin Grant (Easton/Easton). The score was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, but James had 1:13 in riding time to get the bonus point and earn the victory.
 
Bloomsburg falls to 5-6, 1-2 in the EWL. The Huskies host Cleveland State on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Nelson Field House.
