BLOOMSBURG--The Bloomsburg University wrestling team will open its 2014-15 EWL (Eastern Wrestling League) schedule on Friday visiting Clarion University at 7 p.m.

TEAM NOTES
• The Huskies are coming off a seventh place finish at the PSAC Championships on Dec. 6. Bloomsburg had four placewinners at the event. Michael Mirra (Mountaintop/Crestwood) took second at 197 pounds; Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) was third at 133; Tanner Cahill (Johnstown /Conemaugh High School) fourth at 141 and Kevin Laubach (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) sixth at 149 pounds.

• Schutz posted two wins by major decision at the PSAC Championships winning 10-2 and 11-0 on his way to the third place finish.

• Mirra went 3-1 at PSACs in finishing second at 197 pounds. One of his wins was by major decision, 16-3.

• Schutz, Cahill and Laubach lead the Huskies in wins with nine each with Schutz posting a team-high three wins by fall.

• Schutz has posted wins in four of his last six matches of the season.

• The Huskies are idle till December 29 when they take part in the LHU Invitational.

ABOUT CLARION      2014-15 SCHEDULE

TEAM NOTES
• Clarion's Sam Sherlock at 141 pounds and Evan Daley at 285 pounds posted victories  but it wasn't enough as #13 Edinboro defeated Clarion 32-6 in NCAA Division I wrestling on Dec. 13.

• Clarion took the interim tag off of Keith Ferraro this week naming the 34-year old as the team's new head coach. Ferraro had been an assistant coach with the Golden Eagles the previous two years.

• The Golden Eagles finished fifth at the PSAC Championships with four placewinners led by Daley taking second at 285lbs.
