BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team placed four players in double figures, but came up short against West Chester on Wednesday falling 81-68 in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Eastern Division showdown.
In the early going the teams were tied four times and traded the lead twice. The Huskies grabbed a 7-4 advantage with 13:49 to go in the first half when
Dontahe Jordan (Williamsport/Williamsport) hit one of two free throws. West Chester came back and tied the game on a 3-pointer from R.J. Griffin before Haigler drove the lane putting Bloomsburg back on top, 9-7. That would be the final lead of the game for the Huskies.

West Chester put together a 13-2 run to go out on top 20-11 with 9:39 to play in the period. The Huskies came back and cut the lead to five points, 20-15, on a pair of free throws from
Alssene Saintilus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and a dunk by Haigler with 8:27 to go. But a late 5-0 run by West Chester to end the first half put the visitors on top by 10 at the break, 35-25.

In the second half the Golden Rams maintained at least a 10-point advantage for the first three and half minutes of play before a 3-pointer from
Andrew Morgan (New Brunswick, NJ/St. Joseph's) cut the deficit to seven points, 44-37.

The Golden Rams, though came back and pushed their lead to 15 points, 69-54, with 5:48 to play after a 3-pointer from Eric Frans. But once more the Huskies chipped away at the lead getting it down to nine, 72-63, with 3:23 left. Jordan and
Jon Riles (Philadelphia/Academy of the New Church) each hit a pair of free throws, while
Zach Sheetz (Landisville/Hempfield) drained a 3-pointer with Jordan finishing off the rally with a steal and layup for Bloomsburg.

West Chester finished on a 9-0 run over the next two minutes and stretched its lead to 18 before the Huskies closed out the game with a Morgan 3-pointer and a layup from Jordan for a final of 81-68.

West Chester, 18-7, 11-4 in the PSAC East, got 20 points from Cory Blake, while Ben Mingledough came off the bench to score 16 with Griffin chipping in with 12.

Bloomsburg, 14-10, 9-5 in the PSAC, got 16 points from Jordan, while Saintilus and Haigler each added 14. Morgan chipped in with 10 for the Huskies off the bench.

The Huskies play at Mansfield on Saturday at 3 p.m.
