Lacrosse Team To Play Twice This Weekend

STORYLINE
On their spring break the Huskies travel to Maryland where they will face Pfeifer and Grand Valley State. The Huskies look to improve upon their .500 record after recording a 14-6 home win over Mercy College.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Last Saturday on home turf the Huskies defeated Mercy College by a score of 14-6. Marisa Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford) recorded seven points and Julie Falk (Millersville/Penn Manor) tallied five goals, two of them assisted by Moley. The game was tied at three at halftime, but the Huskies caught fire scoring 11 times in the second half to blow the game open. Goalie Abbey Burnett (Frederick, MD/Walkersville) made three saves in a winning effort, and Christine Seitzinger (Schnecksville/Parkland) logged some minutes in the second half.
 
SCOUTING PFEIFER
The Falcons come into this matchup with a 3-1 overall record. Junior midfielder Ashleigh Kassab leads their offensive attack with 17 points including 14 goals. Junior goalie Rachel McCarthy has a 3-0 record on the season along with a .537 save percentage.
 
SCOUTING GRAND VALLEY STATE
The Lakers own a 2-3 record so far this season. Junior midfielder Rachel Leibovitz leads GVSU offensively with 11 points including eight goals. Junior attacker Sarah Lowe has also contributed 10 points with five goals and five assists.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The all-time series vs. Pfeifer is tied 2-2.
Sunday will be the first meeting between Bloomsburg and Grand Valley State.
 
FALK ON FIRE
Junior captain Julie Falk (Millersville/Penn Manor) netted five goals the last time out bringing her season total to nine.
 
MOLEY RACKING UP THE POINTS
Junior attacker Marisa Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford) tallied a career-high seven points in the win over Mercy College, contributing four goals and three assists. She now has eight points on the season.
 
BURNETT SOLID BETWEEN THE PIPES
Freshman goalie Abbey Burnett (Frederick, MD/Walkersville) posted a solid outing in the win over Mercy College. She made three saves in 53 minutes of play in the game, only allowing four goals.
