KUTZTOWN—Bloomsburg University scored the game's final six goals to help the Huskies get past Kutztown University, 13-5, in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) women's lacrosse matchup Saturday afternoon.

The Huskies (6-2, 4-0 PSAC), ranked 15th nationally, wasted little time getting on the scoreboard netting a goal just 32 seconds into the game when freshman Brigid Kyne (Newtown Square/Marple Newtown) scored off an assist from Marisa Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford). Bloomsburg made it 2-0 a few minutes later when Moley assisted Patrice Coleman (Media/Penncrest ) with 26:09 to go in the half.

Two goals from Kutztown (2-6, 0-4 PSAC) surrounding a Huskies score by Morgan Sheriff made it 3-2 with 17:25 left in the half. Bloomsburg then closed out the period with three straight goals, the last by Sheriff on a free position shot with six seconds left, to make it 6-2 at the break.

Kutztown scored three of the first four goals of the second half to close to within 7-5 with under 19 minutes to play. However, that would be as close as the Golden Bears would get.

The Huskies took control of the game scoring the final six goals to put away the upset-minded Golden Bears.

Moley started the run for the Huskies scoring off an assist from Coleman, followed by a goal from Ashley Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) to make it 9-5. Kyne delivered her second goal of the game with Coleman getting the assist with 8:17 left with the pair reversing roles three minutes later with Coleman scoring to make it 11-5.

Bloomsburg ended the run with goals from Moley and Kyne as the Huskies won their fifth straight game.

Kyne, last week's PSAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week, scored three goals and added two assists, while Moley scored twice and had three assists. In goal Abbey Burnett (Frederick, MD/Walkersville) made 15 saves for the Huskies. Kutztown got a team-high three goals from Spencer.
