Box Score EDINBORO—The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team lost to Edinboro, 12-11, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action Saturday.
The Fighting Scots (7-5 overall, 3-5 PSAC) came out strong with a 1-0 lead just two minutes into the game. Bloomsburg got on the board five minutes later when
Ashley Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) found
Julie Falk (Millersville/Penn Manor) in front to tie it, 1-1. Falk and
Ashley Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) scored the next two Huskies goals to bring the score to 3-1 with 20 minutes remaining.
Edinboro scored at the 19 minute mark to bring the game within one at 3-2. Bloomsburg scored the next five goals to take an 8-2 lead.
Brigid Kyne (Newtown Square/Marple Newtown) scored first followed by a goal by
Marisa Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford), assisted by Falk.
Morgan Sherriff (Downingtown/Coatesville) tallied a goal before Ashley and
Aubrey Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) registered two goals in a row. The Fighting Scots scored two goals in a row to end the half at 8-4.
After an Edinboro goal Moley found Falk for another Huskies goal to make the score 9-5 with 27:46 on the clock. The Fighting Scots scored another goal before Kyne and
Ashley Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) scored two more Huskies goals making the score 11-6 with 19 minutes to go. Edinboro went on a six goal run to win the game 12-11.
Ashley Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) and Falk led the Huskies offense with three goals and an assist each, while Kyne finished with two goals. In goal
Abbey Burnett (Frederick, MD/Walkersville) made 14 saves and added a team-high five ground balls.
The Huskies, who move to 7-4, 5-2 PSAC, host Seton Hill Tuesday, April 15 at 4 p.m. and East Stroudsburg Thursday, April 17 also at 4 p.m.
