Moley Powers Huskies Offense Past the Warriors

Box Score BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team defeated Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent East Stroudsburg, 15-9, Thursday afternoon after a dominant second half at Sports Stadium.
 
Despite being tied 8-8 at half, the Huskies were able to bounce back in the second half and score seven goals to win the game 15-9.
 
Julie Falk (Millersville/Penn Manor) scored the first Bloomsburg goal of the game and took an early 1-0 lead just one minute in.  The Warriors (7-7, 2-7 PSAC) took a 2-1 lead after scoring two goals in a row.  Marisa Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford) found the back of the net after a crease roll to tie the game back up at 2-2.
 
East Stroudsburg scored two more goals to gain a 4-2 advantage at the 18 minute mark.  Bloomsburg then went on a five goal run taking a 7-4 lead.  With 16:14 on the clock Falk converted on a free position shot and then Patrice Coleman (Media/Penncrest ) assisted to Ashley Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) 40 seconds later.  Moley netted back-to-back goals before Carly Ball (Lansdale/North Penn) scored on a free position.
 
The Warriors broke the five goal streak with eight minutes left to bring the game within two at 7-5.  Moley scored again for Bloomsburg on a lefty crease roll to take an 8-5 lead.  During the last five minutes of the first half East Stroudsburg tallied three more goals to tie it up at 8-8.
 
The Huskies raced out to an 11-8 lead after registering three more goals.  First Moley assisted to Ashley Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) with 25:52 on the clock.  50 seconds later Moley scored from the goal line extended for Bloomsburg.  Then Aubrey Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) tallied her first assist of the season when she passed it to Ashley Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) who found the back of the net.
 
East Stroudsburg scored its only goal of the half with 15:16 to go making the score 11-9.  Bloomsburg recorded the next four goals to win the game.  Ball, Brigid Kyne (Newtown Square/Marple Newtown), Aubrey Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon), and Falk all scored for the Huskies, while Falk dished out an assist to finish the game with a 15-9 lead. 
 
Moley led the Huskies offense with six points on five goals and an assist, while Falk added three goals and an assist and Ashley Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) had three goals.  In goal Abbey Burnett (Frederick, MD/Walkersville) made six saves and on defense Kate Shea (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) had a team-high three caused turnovers. 
 
This season Falk leads the team in points with 55 on 38 goals and 17 assists.  With the four points from today's game she becomes tied at third all-time for career points at Bloomsburg with 213.  She ties with Sheila Zilinski.
 
Moley is second in points for Bloomsburg this season with 51 on 28 goals and a team-high 23 assists.  Kyne follows with 29 goals and eight assists for 37 points.
 
Bloomsburg, who moves to 8-5, 6-3, travels to No. 12 Mercyhurst Saturday for an 11 a.m. PSAC game.
