Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Mercyhurst

Box Score ERIE—The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) game, 18-7, against No. 12 Mercyhurst Saturday morning at Tullio Field.
 
The Lakers (13-2, 9-1 PSAC) took an early 2-0 lead before Bloomsburg got on the board at the 25:00 mark when Marisa Moley (Phoenixville/Spring-Ford) passed to Morgan Sherriff (Downingtown/Coatesville) in front.  Mercyhurst scored two more goals to make the score 4-1 in favor of the Lakers.
 
Julie Falk (Millersville/Penn Manor) finished a free position shot with 19 minutes to go closing the Lakers lead to two at 4-2.  After another Mercyhurst goal the Huskies tallied two more goals first by Brigid Kyne (Newtown Square/Marple Newtown) and then by Falk closing the gap at 5-4.
 
Bloomsburg and Mercyhurst traded one goal apiece before the Lakers went on a two goal run to close out the half, 8-5.
 
During the second half Mercyhurst outscored Bloomsburg 9-2 to finish the game with an 18-7 lead.  Sherriff and Kyne scored both Huskies second half goals, while Patrice Coleman (Media/Penncrest ) and Moley each dished out an assist.
 
Kyne finished the game with three goals, while Sherriff and Falk added two goals each.  Moley had a team-high three assists.  Falk also snatched a game-high six draw controls.
 
This season Falk leads the team in points with 57 on 40 goals and 17 assists.  With the two goals from today's game she moves up into seventh all-time for career goals at Bloomsburg with 145.
 
Moley is second in points for Bloomsburg this season with 54 on 28 goals and a team-high 26 assists.  Kyne follows with 32 goals and eight assists for 40 points.
 
Bloomsburg (8-6, 6-4) travels to No. 7 IUP Tuesday, April 22 for a 4 p.m. PSAC game.
