BLOOMSBURG-Despite winning four of the nine bouts contested the Bloomsburg University wrestling team lost to Rider University, 26-13, on Friday night at the Nelson Field House.
The Huskies picked up wins at 125 from freshman
Jon Haas (Penfield, NY/Penfield) as well as
Kurt Meske (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) at 165 pounds, freshman
Auston Hummel (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylkill) at 174 pounds and
Michael Mirra (Mountaintop/Crestwood) at 197 pounds with Mirra winning by major decision. The Broncs, though, strung together wins in four straight matches and also earned a win by forfeit to get the win.
Bloomsburg falls to 0-7, 0-3 in the EWL, while Rider improves to 9-6, 3-1 in the EWL. The Huskies return to action on Sunday hosting Bucknell at 2 p.m. at the Nelson Field House.
