BLOOMSBURG-An unbeaten regular season is the prize sitting out there for the Bloomsburg University women's swim team as it gets set to face IUP and Gannon at the IUP Dual Challenge on Friday and Saturday. Action gets underway at Friday at 5 p.m. and continues on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
The Huskies are 7-0 on the year and can become just the second team in school history to finish the regular season with an unbeaten mark joining the 1978-79 coached by Mary Gardner which went 10-0. The 1978-79 women's swim team was the first women's team in school history to go undefeated in a regular season and went on to finish fourth at the conference championships.
The current Huskies squad beat Gannon earlier this year in a single dual meet, while the Huskies outscored IUP at the Zippy Invitational in December.
"The BU/IUP women's match up will be a preview of the PSAC race to the women's title," said head coach
Stu Marvin. "Both teams are poised to win the championship, with West Chester heavily in the fight."
