BLOOMSBURG--The Bloomsburg University wrestling team will take part in the Pitt Duals on Sunday, Jan. 11. The Huskies will take on Drexel at noon and then face the Wolfpack of North Carolina State at 2 p.m.

BLOOMSBURG TEAM NOTESThe Huskies last competed in late December at both the Lock Haven Invitational and the Midlands. At the Lock Haven Invitational
Michael Mirra (Mountaintop/Crestwood) took fourth at 197 lbs. Mirra went 2-0 to start the tournament before losing 3-0 to eventual champio Tyler Lyster of Bucknell. In the consolation finals Mirra lost 8-5 to Tyler Greene of Bucknell.
At the Midlands
Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) reached round five of the consolations at 133 lbs before being eliminated. Schutz opened with a win by fall over Paddy Quinlan of F & M before losing to top-ranked A.J Schoop of Edinboro. in the consolation round Schutz beat John Cuokos of Northwestern by fall before getting eliminated by Robert Deutsch of Rider, 4-2. Also competing at the Midlands was Tanner Calhill (141 lbs) and
Kevin Laubach (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) (149 lbs).
The Huskies have an addition to its roster for the second half of the season as former local standout
Kurt Meske (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) joins the team. Meske finishedn third at the PIAA State Championships as a senior posting a record of 41-1 on the year.
DREXEL TEAM NOTESÂ Â
Drexel StatisticsFour Dragons represented the Drexel wrestling team at the Wilkes Open and the Franklin & Marshall Open over the course of the last two weeks. Freshman
Stephen Loiseau earned a first place finish at 174 pounds in the Wilkes Open on Dec. 28 and then went on to finish third at the Diplomat-hosted open on Jan. 3. He was joined by teammates
Brandon Litten and
Alex Foley, who each placed fourth at the Wilkes Open at 197 and 285, respectively, and then later by heavyweight
Joey Goodhart, who earned a fourth place finish at the Franklin & Marshall Open.
NC STATE TEAM NOTESÂ
NC State StatisticsThe NC State wrestling team fell behind 15-3 after the first six bouts, and despite three straight bonus point wins, the Pack came up short against Duke Wednesday night in Reynolds Coliseum, 18-17. The dual was the ACC opener for both squads.
