WEST CHESTER--The Bloomsburg University women's swim team opened its 2015-16 season with a tri-meet at West Chester with Lehigh University. The Huskies lost to West Chester, 121-84, and were beaten by Lehigh, 135-70. (Note...diving scores, which Bloomsburg doesn't have, were factored into the meet scoring.)

Bloomsburg opened the meet by taking first and third in the 400-medley relay. The team of Alex Wheatley (Dresher/Upper Dublin), Nikki Young (Trooper/Methacton), Caroline Hodgins (Schwenksville, PA) and Meghan Gallagher (Aston/Sun Valley) won in 3:59.54, while the team of Sydney Mercer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Millville), Sarah Ritter (Hampstead, MD/Carroll, MD), Courtney Middleton (Vineland, NJ/Vineland) and Ashley Dix (Schwenksville/Perkiomen Valley) finishing third in 4:07.92
 
In the 200-free Caroline Hodgins (Schwenksville, PA) was fourth in 1:57.11, while Lauren Minford (Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) was seventh in 2:02.79. In the 50-free Meghan Gallagher (Aston/Sun Valley) was second in 24.54, then came back and was fourth in the 100-free in 53.90 seconds.
 
In the 200-backstroke Mercer was third in 2:10.23 with Wheatley fifth in 2:13.33, while in the 500-free Hodgins was fifth in 5:17.41.
 
In the 200-breaststroke Bloomsburg went 2-3 with Young second in 2:29.31 and Ritter third in 2:31.39.
 
In the final event of the night the Huskies took third in the 200-free in 1:42.60 with the team of Alex Burns (Stroudsburg/Stroudsburg), Samantha Campbell (Clifton Heights, PA/Upper Darby), Danielle DelGiorno (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) and Dix.
