RESULTSCLARION—As the Bloomsburg University women's swim team continues its work toward its goal of a PSAC championship the Huskies dominated the Clarion Golden Eagles on Saturday winning 167.5 to 122.5. (Diving scores were included for Clarion, while Bloomsburg does not compete in diving). In addition to the women's team winning, the men's team won as well marking the first time in school history that both the women's and men's team won at Clarion on the same day.

Stu Marvin's squad produced one new PSAC qualifier and two new top-five PSAC times on the afternoon.

Posting top-five PSAC swims were
Meghan Gallagher (Aston/Sun Valley) in the 200-free with the fourth-best time in 1:58.66, while
Nikki Young (Trooper/Methacton) swam the fifth-fastest time in the PSAC this year in the 200-IM in 2:14.91

Gallagher, Young and
Caroline Hodgins (Schwenksville/Perkiomen Valley) were both two-time winners as the Huskies took first in 10 of the 12 individual swimming events. Gallagher won in the 200-free and the 50-free, while Young won in both the 200-IM and the 100-breast. Hodgins showed her versatility winning both the 1000-free as well as the 100-free.

Alex Wheatley (Dresher/Upper Dublin) took first in the 100-back with
Sydney Mercer (Bloomsburg/Millville) winning the 200-back.
Sarah Ritter (Hampstead, MD/Carroll, MD) won the 200-breast, while
Karly Hursey (Hampstead, MD/Carroll, MD) won the 500-free.

Bloomsburg also took first in the 200-medley relay with the team of Wheatley, Young,
Kate Cossitor (Morgantown/Twin Valley) and Gallagher.

"We had great efforts despite a long bus ride and a hard week of training leading up to the meet," said Marvin. "We are a tired team, but staying very focused."

Bloomsburg will host Edinboro on Saturday at noon.
