BLOOMSBURG--The Bloomsburg University wrestling team lost its season finale to Binghamton University on Saturday night by a score of 32-9.
The Huskies picked up wins in two of the first four matches to take a 9-8 lead. However the Bearcats rallied winning the final six bouts of the night to pull away.
Bloomsburg dropped the opening bout of the night then got an 11-6 win from
Andy Schutz (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) at 133 pounds. After Binghamton won at 141 pounds, the Huskies
Kevin Laubach (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) scored a win by fall in 2:50 at 149 pounds to briefly give the Huskies the lead in the match.
Before the match the Huskies honored the lone senior member of the team,
Elliot Zackoski (Scranton/West Scranton).
Bloomsburg falls to 0-12 on the year, while Binghamton ends its regular season at 9-10. The Huskies return to action on March 7 at the Eastern Wrestling League Championships.
