Julie Falk led the way with five goals, while sophomore
Brigid Kyne (Newtown Square/Marple Newtown) scored three times and recorded an assist for the Huskies.
Taylor Turner added a goal and an assist, while
Carly Ball and
Patrice Coleman also scored once each for Bloomsburg.
Brittney Hegarty recorded her first collegiate win, tallying 12 saves in the process.
SCOUTING WEST CHESTERThe #13-ranked Golden Rams come into the matchup having won two of their first three games, including a 15-6 victory over Georgian Court University on Saturday, March 14. Erin Eckert and Hannah Cowan have scored 10 and nine goals respectively to lead an offense that has scored in double-digits in every game so far this season. In goal, Merrilee Viquers and Paige Mitros have shared starting duties, with the duo making a combined 22 saves, and each recording a win for the Golden Rams.
LOOKING FOR REPEAT OF LAST YEARBloomsburg will try and defeat West Chester for the second consecutive year. In 2014, the Huskies pulled out a 15-14 upset over the #6-ranked Golden Rams, thanks to a career-high six goals by Kyne. Falk tallied three scores, while Ashley and
Aubrey Bossert (Ambler/Wissahickon) each chipped in two goals to help pull the upset.
Abbey Burnett (Frederick, MD/Walkersville) made six saves to earn the win.
FALK ON FIREFalk continues to score goals at a rapid pace, as her 3.33 goals per game is tied for seventh in the conference. With her 10 goals this year, she jumped up to fifth in school history, as she has 165 for her career. She now trails Sam Mazzie for fourth place all-time by one goal, and needs 41 more by the end of the season to be Bloomsburg's all-time leading goal scorer.
DEFENSE CAUSING HAVOC The Bloomsburg defense has been pesky so far this season, recording 71 ground balls, as opposed to just 44 by their opponents. The Huskies also have caused more turnovers (36-19), and a higher clear percentage (.816-.744) on the year.
