FRIDAY RESULTSEAST STROUDSBURG—Bloomsburg University sophomore
Kaylee Caruso (Montoursville/Montoursville) captured the long jump title at the 2015 PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Track and Field Championships to highlight action for the Huskies.
Â
Caruso's title was the second for Bloomsburg coming on the heels of
Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll)'s win in the 10k final on Thursday. The win helped the Huskies stand in fifth place with 31 points heading to the last day of competition on Saturday at East Stroudsburg University.
Â
After an opening jump of 5.53 meters, Caruso let loose on her second jump breaking her own school record of 5.81 meters with a leap of 5.91 meters (19' 4.75"), a mark that also bettered her NCAA provisional standing. Her third attempt of 5.85 meters was even better than the eventual second place mark of 5.80 meters by a Shippensburg athlete as she becomes the first long jumper in school history to win a PSAC title.
